Four Family Members Killed in Car-Bus Collision in Punjab
Four members of a family died, and one was injured when a car collided with a Punjab Roadways bus near Dosarka on Dasuya road on Saturday. The accident happened due to dense fog.
The car’s occupants were from Chalet village in Himachal Pradesh. They were traveling to Amritsar airport when their car hit the bus coming from Pathankot.
All four occupants of the car died at the scene. The injured person was taken to Hoshiarpur civil hospital. Police arrived and moved the bodies to the hospital. The bus passengers, who were unharmed, were sent to their destinations in other buses.
The victims were identified as Sukhwinder Singh, Sushil Kumar, Brij Kumar, and Arun Kumar. The injured, Amrit Kumar, stated they were all family members. He mentioned they were driving him to the airport for a flight.
“We started from the village at around 5 am. I was sitting in the front, while my uncle Sukhwinder was driving. I don’t know what happened as I had dozed off. I only remember that there was dense fog,” he said.
Gurmeet Ghumman, in-charge of the Bhunga police post, stated that a case would be registered against the bus driver, even though the accident appeared to be caused by fog.
