A 50-year-old man died by suicide after jumping from the 20th floor of a hotel in New Delhi’s Connaught Place, according to police.
A 50-year-old man from Delhi allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the 20th floor of Le Méridien hotel in Connaught Place. The incident occurred around 12:40 pm on Sunday.
Delhi Police and forensic teams responded to the scene. The man was identified as a property dealer from Lajpat Nagar. He jumped from the open area where the restaurant is located. Police stated that no foul play is suspected.

The hotel staff reported that the man was a guest at the restaurant when he jumped. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police confirmed that no suicide note was found.
Family members informed police that the man had been experiencing financial difficulties in his business. Additionally, he was undergoing treatment for depression and was on medication.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the hotel and questioning the man’s family. They noted that no one has raised any suspicions regarding the incident. The man had previously stayed at the hotel during Christmas last year.
He is survived by his wife, and the couple had no children. The man’s parents had passed away long ago.
