Survey Engages Over 6,500 Residents in Baner-Balewadi

The Baner-Balewadi Citizens Forum and Baner-Balewadi-Pashan Residents Association conducted a survey. Both groups have been working with the administration and elected representatives on local issues. The survey received responses from more than 6,500 residents. Balwadkar described this as a promising sign of awareness and involvement.

Survey Focus and Results

The questionnaire focused on ongoing works, citizen expectations, and priorities for future representatives. Balwadkar stated that this survey shows how vigilant citizens can shape sustainable local development. Several points raised by residents are included in his performance report, called Janahitanama, which will be part of his development vision.

Key Issues Discussed

One major topic was the Balewadi-Wakad Road. Balwadkar mentioned he spoke directly with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. He expressed confidence that work on the road would start within the next two months. An alternate traffic plan will be implemented to avoid congestion once the road opens.

Pollution and Water Supply Concerns

Pollution from large-scale construction was another key issue. Balwadkar promised strict action against builders violating Unified DC Rules. A separate campaign will be launched for enforcement. Regarding water supply, he said a dedicated plan will address shortages in newly added areas like Sus and Mahalunge. The remaining ten percent of Baner-Balewadi households facing water gaps are also expected to be covered.

Senior Citizen Footpath Issues

Balwadkar stated that footpath difficulties faced by senior citizens would be resolved as a priority. He also shared that a proposal is being pursued to develop a modern theatre on a 2.5-acre plot in the Balewadi area.
