Gurugram officials directed to prioritize road repairs, enforce pollution norms, and expedite land acquisition for infrastructure projects
Gurugram Urban Development Department Directs Road Repairs
Gurugram: The urban development department directed civic agencies on Thursday to prioritize the repair of damaged roads. They must also comply with the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) directives and enforce pollution guidelines, officials said.
Dhesi Reviews Infrastructure Projects
The directions came from principal advisor (urban development) DS Dhesi during the sixth district coordination committee meeting in Gurugram. Dhesi also instructed officials to take action against illegal ready mix concrete (RMC) plants and expedite land acquisition for infrastructure projects.
Road Repair Complaints
According to the district spokesperson, Dhesi directed that road repair complaints received on the Mhari Sadak mobile application be prioritized. He emphasized the need for a timely and satisfactory response.

Anti-Pollution Measures
During the meeting, MCG officials informed Dhesi that mechanical sweeping machines were being deployed on master sector roads. They are cleaning up construction and demolition (C&D) waste and sprinkling water to control dust.
Rainwater Harvesting Structures
The meeting also reviewed the status of rainwater harvesting structures (RWHS). MCG officials stated that tenders had been issued for 100 RWHS, with 20 more proposed. Dhesi instructed that all RWHS be functional before the monsoon.
Land Acquisition Progress
The progress of land acquisition for road connectivity, master roads, and metro expansion projects was also reviewed. Officials said the committee under the Land Acquisition Act, 2013, was directed to submit details quickly.
Land Identification Process
Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) administrator and committee chairperson Vaishali Singh said the land identification process was ongoing. She added that the matter would be forwarded to GMDA by January 31. The land for the proposed metro depot near the marble market has been approved by HSVP.
Monitoring of RMC Plants
During the meeting, Dhesi noted that 90 RMC plants were operating without necessary permits. Show-cause notices had been issued against them. He directed that these plants be regularly monitored to curb illegal activities.
