Haryana Government Forms Committee for Development Projects

The Haryana government has established a committee to speed up development works in the state. This committee will review the progress of development projects every two weeks. Comprehensive assessments will also be conducted at the chief minister’s level, ideally once every two months.

Committee Composition and Responsibilities

According to an order from chief secretary Anurag Rastogi, the committee includes:

Name Role

Narender Pal Malik Officer on Special Duty (OSD to CM)
Karan Ahlawadi Senior Consultant to the Chief Minister
Rajeev Batish Chief Engineer (Public Health)

Rajeev Batish will provide technical assistance during the review process.

Mandate of the Committee

The committee has a broad mandate that includes monitoring key stages of project execution. Its tasks involve:

  • Tracking timelines from administrative approval to work award.
  • Examining delays in architectural approvals.
  • Assessing time needed between project award and start.
  • Reviewing permissions required from other departments.

Monitoring and Reporting

The panel will also ensure projects are completed on time. It will identify reasons for delays and cost increases. The committee will assess new timelines after administrative approvals and ensure completion within set schedules. It will also monitor the maintenance of created assets.

In addition to regular reviews, the committee will send monthly progress reports to the principal secretary (to CM). This will help maintain oversight and allow for corrective actions at the highest administrative level, according to an official spokesperson.
