Road Safety Awareness Program Inaugurated

On Monday, January 5, Senior Civil Judge and District Legal Services Authority Member-Secretary Zaibunnisa urged people to follow road safety norms. This call aims to prevent road accidents and save lives.

She spoke during the inauguration of the 37th Road Safety Month awareness program. This event was organized by the Dakshina Kannada district administration, the transport department, the legal services authority, and the police department at the regional transport office.

Ms. Zaibunnisa emphasized the need for greater awareness about road safety issues and rules. She expressed concern over the rising number of road accidents and fatalities in the state. Following traffic discipline is essential to save lives, she stated.

She noted a lack of road safety knowledge among people, especially the youth. Ms. Zaibunnisa highlighted the importance of awareness programs in educational institutions. She also mentioned the dangers of drinking and driving.

Deputy Commissioner of Transport and Senior RTO Murugendra Basavaraj Shirolkar and others attended the event.
