Deputy Chief Minister Reviews Arrangements for Sammakka-Sarakka Maha Jatara

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka stated that all arrangements for the Sammakka-Sarakka Maha Jatara will be completed by January 15. He highlighted that permanent structures are being built to showcase the cultural significance of the festival and to provide a smooth experience for devotees.

Funding and Progress of the Event

Speaking to the media after reviewing the works at Medaram on Sunday evening, the Deputy CM mentioned that the State government has allocated ₹260 crore for this year’s Jatara. This includes ₹150 crore for event arrangements and ₹110 crore for permanent temple infrastructure. He remarked, “This festival is not just a tribal celebration, it is the heartbeat of Telangana and a symbol of our self-respect.”

Completion Status and Official Directives

Mr. Vikramarka informed that nearly 85% of the works have been completed. He directed officials to finish the remaining tasks by January 15. He was accompanied by Ministers Sridhar Babu, Konda Surekha, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Seethakka, and Adluri Laxman, and he also offered prayers to the deities.

Financial Management and Vigilance

The Deputy CM assured that funds have already been released and that bills for completed works are being cleared within 24 hours. He noted that previous governments spent around ₹75-100 crore on the Jatara, while the current administration has significantly increased the allocation.

He instructed officials from the Health and NPDCL, along with other staff, to remain vigilant and treat the event with utmost seriousness until its conclusion.
