Pongal Gift Hampers Distributed in Three Districts
Distribution of Pongal gift hampers started in Dindigul, Theni, and Sivaganga districts on Thursday. Each gift hamper includes one kg of raw rice, one kg of sugar, one sugarcane, a dhoti, a saree, and ₹3,000 in cash.
Dindigul District Details
In Dindigul district, Minister for Rural Development I. Periyasamy launched the scheme at fair price shops in Sithayankottai town panchayat and Sitharevu panchayat of Athoor Union. Dindigul Collector S. Saravanan was present. A total of 6.94 lakh card holders in the district will benefit from the scheme.
Theni District Details
In Theni district, MP Thanga Tamil Selvan, Periyakulam MLA K.S. Saravana Kumar, and Theni Collector Ranjeet Singh inaugurated the scheme at a fair price shop in Theni Allinagaram Municipality. A total of 4.30 lakh card holders in the district will benefit.
Sivaganga District Details
In Sivaganga district, Sivaganga Collector K. Porkodi launched the scheme at a fair price shop in Sivaganga Municipality. A total of 4.19 lakh card holders in the district will benefit.
