New Aadhar Seva Kendras to Open in Tamil Nadu
A total of 30 Aadhar Seva Kendras (ASK) managed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will become operational in Tamil Nadu by September.
First Phase of Expansion
In the first phase, UIDAI has agreed to establish eight more ASKs by March, according to Alby John Vargheese, Chief Executive Officer of the Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency (TNeGA).
Inauguration of New ASK Centre
During the inauguration of an ASK centre at Anna Nagar East, Vargheese noted that the centre, which was previously operational, has now moved to a new building. This new location features improved infrastructure and accessible-friendly facilities, enhancing Aadhaar service delivery in Tamil Nadu.

A press release stated that Srutanjay Narayanan, Joint CEO of TNeGA, Annie Joyce V., Deputy Director General of UIDAI, and Pawan Kumar Pahwa, Director of UIDAI, were present at the event.
Services Offered at ASK Centres
The ASK provides Aadhaar enrolment, biometric and demographic updates, error correction, and grievance redressal all in one place. The centre operates every day except on public holidays. This setup aims to enhance the resident experience, as noted in the press release.
Existing Aadhar Centres in Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu currently has 690 Aadhar centres operated by the State government. These centres are located inside district collectorates, taluk offices, and other government offices.
