A routine Monday morning turned tragic for a family when a woman allegedly jumped off the terrace to escape a massive fire in her flat at Rohtas Enclave in Ravindrapalli. The fire reportedly started when a candle, lit by the woman for a ritual, fell on a carpet, igniting it. Police stated that the blaze quickly engulfed the entire house.

The fire department is investigating the cause of the fire. They mentioned it might have started due to a short circuit. ACP (Ghazipur) Anindaya Vikram Singh reported that Nida Rizvi jumped from the terrace during the chaos and suffered head injuries. She was taken to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

Fire department officials confirmed that three other family members were rescued. Ammar Rizvi managed to escape with partial burns on his hand and face and is in stable condition. Their daughter, Zara, who is a first-year MBBS student in the United States, was rescued from the upper floor. Their son, Joharav, escaped on his own.

The house owner is Mohammad Haseen, Nida’s father-in-law. Nida ran a primary school in Chowk, while Ammar is an advocate involved in the property business. Zara was scheduled to return to the U.S. on Monday evening, and the family had completed all preparations for her departure.

A neighbor, Beena, reported hearing Joharav shout about the fire and saw Nida screaming for help. Beena advised Nida to move to the other side and go down the stairs, but Nida mentioned there was a lot of smoke. Beena also noted that Nida pleaded for a ladder, but as help arrived, the fire engulfed a wooden room in the house, causing Nida to fall.
